Every developer has probably searched for string formatting syntax. It’s just almost impossible to remember all the tiny details and the formatting options.
I’ve collected all the possible formats, into a handy silverlight utility, so you can come back and look for your format when needed. Please note that currently, the tool display only .Net formatting options. And provides you with a code snippet that you can copy paste into your application.

That’s an excellent suggestion. When developing this tool I’ve been trying to implement it myself.
The problem was that my languages pull down is binded directly to a list of CultureInfo, and CurrentCulture is displayed as all the other languages.
I might fix it, and update this post.

FYI, I was browsing on an old PC and noticed that Silverlight wasn’t installed. The message says “To install: 1 click and no restart”. Actually with FireFox, it’s six clicks and you have to restart the browser. Still simple, but not quite as simple as advertised.
